Workshop Fire – April 2025

About the fire
In the early hours of April 8, a fire broke out in the office, showroom, and storeroom of my workshop. If you’ve seen any of the demo videos filmed with Jacob Raagaard over the past year or so, you’d likely recognise this space.
The fire destroyed my entire inventory of Weissenborn guitars, along with tonewoods and parts for upcoming builds. It also caused significant damage to workshop equipment, tools, and machinery.
Thankfully, no one was injured, and fire crews were able to contain the blaze before it spread further. Since then, much of my time has been devoted to cleanup and navigating the insurance process as I begin the long task of restoring the workshop.
Due to the extent of the damage, I’ll be pausing work on new guitars for the foreseeable future while repairs take place. Thankfully, most of the custom orders I was working on at the time were largely unaffected, and I’ll be continuing those builds from a temporary workspace, which is now being set up.
My remaining Weissenborn guitars
Fortunately, a small number of Weissenborns were away from the workshop having their lacquer finish applied at the time of the fire. These guitars are now complete and available on the website.
See My Available Weissenborn Guitars Here.
These will be the only Weissenborn guitars available for the foreseeable future. Orders are shipping as normal, though things like pickup installation might take a little bit longer than normal.
How I'm rebuilding
Since day one, I’ve grown this business organically — one guitar at a time — through word of mouth and the support of people who believe in what I do.
Many of you may have heard about the fire through social media. The outpouring of support, kind messages, and encouragement has been nothing short of incredible — thank you.
Thankfully I have insurance, and I'm working with to replace what was lost and get things back in order. Repairs to the workshop are ongoing but I expect things to return to normal in the near future.
While repairs to the workshop will take some time, I'm looking forward to once again crafting guitars.
Future guitars
As things return to normal in the coming months, I’ll be prioritising existing custom builds and preorders.
In the near future, I will be opening my build calendar to new orders — which will be the only way to secure a guitar for the remainder of 2025. If you were thinking about investing in one of my guitars this year, then I do invite you to contact me to discuss it further, and secure one of the limited build slots I'll have available.
Thank you again for all the support and well-wishes. It’s meant the world to me as I take these difficult first steps back to doing what I love: building and sharing guitars with you.
